Open Graph Checker
Check and debug Open Graph tags
Paste a URL to read its Open Graph tags and see the link preview they produce. Find missing or conflicting og tags and fix them before you share the page.
og:title
The headline shown in the preview card. Keep it under about 60 characters and make it readable on its own, without the site name doing all the work.
Title
Description
framer.com
og:description
The short summary under the title. Around 110 to 160 characters works well. Some apps show only the first line, so lead with the key point.

og:image
The preview image. Use an absolute HTTPS URL to a 1200 x 630 pixel JPG or PNG, and add og:image:width, og:image:height and og:image:alt.
og:url and og:type
og:url should match the canonical URL so shares are counted for one address. og:type is usually website for pages and article for blog posts.

A practical guide to Open Graph tags
Open Graph is the protocol most platforms use to build link previews. An Open Graph checker shows what they will read from your page and helps you debug problems.
What is an Open Graph checker?
An Open Graph checker fetches a URL, reads its og meta tags and renders preview cards for platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Slack and WhatsApp. It works like a debugger for the way your link looks when shared.
Which Open Graph tags are required?
The four basic tags are og:title, og:type, og:image and og:url. Add og:description and og:site_name for a complete preview, and og:locale if you publish in several languages.
How to debug Open Graph tags
Run the URL through the checker and look for missing tags, duplicates, or values that differ from the page. Make sure tags are in the server-rendered HTML, since many crawlers do not run JavaScript.
Open Graph vs. Twitter cards
Twitter card tags such as twitter:card and twitter:image are specific to X. When they are missing, X falls back to the Open Graph tags. Set twitter:card to summary_large_image and let Open Graph cover the rest.
Why does the old preview still show?
Platforms cache previews. After you change your tags, republish the page and use the platform's own tool, like the LinkedIn Post Inspector, to fetch a fresh copy.
Do Open Graph tags help SEO?
Open Graph tags are not a direct ranking factor, but better previews earn more clicks and shares, which brings more visitors and more chances for links to your page.
A quick Open Graph checklist
One og:title and og:description per page, a 1200 x 630 og:image with an absolute URL, og:url matching the canonical, twitter:card set, and a fresh check after every change.
