Framer social preview not updating
Framer sets a site-wide social preview, page overrides and per-item CMS images. If the new image is live but the old one still shows, the platform’s cache is the cause.
Last updated
Quick fix
Set the image in Site settings, or override it in the page’s settings.
For CMS pages, choose CMS Variables under Page images, Social preview.
Re-publish the site.
Check it with the meta tag checker, then refresh each platform.
Why the Framer preview isn’t updating
The site isn’t re-published. Settings changes go live only after you publish.
A page override wins. A page’s own social image replaces the site default.
The CMS page isn’t bound to an image field, so every item shows the default image.
The platform cached the old image. Framer’s help center names caching on Slack, LinkedIn and X as the usual reason.
How to fix it
Open Site settings and set the default social preview image.
For one page, open its Page settings and set a different image.
For a CMS template, add an Image field, fill it per item, then in Page settings choose Page images, Social preview, CMS Variables and pick the field.
Use {{Title}} and {{Description}} style variables for per-item titles and descriptions.
Publish, then check the live URL with the meta tag checker.

How to force a refresh
Framer can’t clear another platform’s cache. Use LinkedIn’s Post Inspector and Facebook’s Sharing Debugger, and share the URL with a query string on X, Slack and Discord. The refresh tool has the step for every app.
